CARNEGIE PRINCIPLE CODE OF CONDUCT
 

The Carnegie Principle Code of Conduct defines and establishes principles to be followed in the development and maintenance of the Carnegie Principle. The rules are designed to preserve the benefits available to all Carnegie Principle members.  The terms and conditions of this relationship are set forth in the online terms and conditions that each Carnegie Principle member must accept. 

By becoming a member of the Carnegie Principle, by using the Carnegie Principle website, social media related to Carnegie Principle, attending Carnegie Principle events, and any other act in relation to the Carnegie Principle, I agree to conduct myself according to the following ethical guidelines:

1.       I understand that I am a representation of the Carnegie Principle. Understanding this, I will reflect the highest standard of integrity and conduct myself in the most truthful, honest, and upstanding manner at all times. This includes when sharing the benefits of being a Carnegie Principle member with others.

2.       I agree not to share the information transferred to me as a member of the Carnegie Principle with any non-member of the Carnegie Principle.

3.       I agree to strive to be the best person I can be and will accept and perform the responsibilities of my position in the Carnegie Principle family.

4.       I agree to always treat others the way I expect to be treated.

5.       I agree to be prompt and courteous in responding to any claims brought to my attention.

6.       I agree not to use foul or offensive language while presenting to the Carnegie Principle family.

7.       I agree not to promote violence or any illegal activity of any kind.

8.       I agree not to promote anything that could offend, intimidate, humiliate, or discriminate against any other person on the grounds of gender, race, disability, age, religious or political belief, sexual orientation, social background, ethnic origin, language, marital or civic partnership status, or pregnancy.

9.       I agree not to force upon anyone unwelcome sexual advances, request for sexual favors, or unwanted sexual attention.

10.   I agree and understand that by violating any aspect of the Code of Conduct set forth, that I would be damaging the image and reputation of the Carnegie Principle family. I understand that the Carnegie Principle reserves the right to deny anyone membership for violating the Code of Conduct and that, by my doing so, my Carnegie Principle membership will be revoked.
